چکیده

Security testing aims at validating software system requirements related to security properties like confidentiality, integrity, authentication, authorization, availability, and non-repudiation. Although security testing techniques are available for many years, there has been little approaches that allow for specification of test cases at a higher level of abstraction, for enabling guidance on test identification and specification as well as for automated test generation. Model-based security testing (MBST) is a relatively new field and especially dedicated to the systematic and efficient specification and documentation of security test objectives, security test cases and test suites, as well as to their automated or semi-automated generation. In particular, the combination of security modelling and test generation approaches is still a challenge in research and of high interest for industrial applications. MBST includes e.g. security functional testing, model-based fuzzing, riskand threat-oriented testing, and the usage of security test patterns. This paper provides a survey on MBST techniques and the related models as well as samples of new methods and tools that are under development in the European ITEA2-project DIAMONDS.

An automatic test case generator for evaluating implementation of access control policies

One of the main requirements for providing software security is the enforcement of access control policies which aim to protect resources of the system against unauthorized accesses. Any error in the implementation of such policies may lead to undesirable outcomes. For testing the implementation of access control policies, it is preferred to use automated methods which are faster and more relia...

Testing Weak-Form Efficient Capital Market Case Study: TSE and DJUS Indices

The present study investigated weak-form market information efficiency in Tehran security exchange (TSE) as an emerging market and in Dow Jones United States security exchange (DJUS) as a developed market based on random walk model. In each market, the random walk model was examined using daily and monthly returns of a set of indices. The results of the parametric and non-parametric tests indic...

Mapping of McGraw Cycle to RUP Methodology for Secure Software Developing

Designing a secure software is one of the major phases in developing a robust software. The McGraw life cycle, as one of the well-known software security development approaches, implements different touch points as a collection of software security practices. Each touch point includes explicit instructions for applying security in terms of design, coding, measurement, and maintenance of softwar...

Security testing of session initiation protocol implementations

The mechanisms which enable the vast majority of computer attacks are based on design and programming errors in networked applications. The growing use of voice over IP (VOIP) phone technology makes these phone applications potential targets. We present a tool to perform security testing of VOIP applications to identify security vulnerabilities which can be exploited by an attacker. Session Ini...

Conceptual Framework for Security Testing, Security Risk Analysis and their Combinations

Security testing and security risk analysis are key issues and central to strengthening the ability of companies to face the new security challenges posed by the future internet. We present a conceptual framework clarifying the notions of security testing, security risk analysis, and related concepts, as well as defining the relations among them. The conceptual framework is built upon establish...

Modelling and Experimental Testing of Asymmetric Information Problems in Lease and Hire Contracts (Based on Contract Theory)

This article aims to study lease and hiring contract in the Iranian-Islamic setting and analyze the asymmetric information problem in these contracts. For doing this, we study the characteristics of lease and hiring contracts in Iran (real world experimental characteristics that recognized in other studies), using library method, then we mathematically model different aspects of asymmetric info...
